Stanford men’s basketball rounded out their 2026 class by signing 3-star shooting guard Julius Price out of St. Joseph High School in Santa Maria, California. In addition to Stanford, Price held offers from UC Santa Barbara, Arizona State, Washington State, Michigan, UCF, Cincinnati, Loyola (Chicago), and Washington. Price is the fourth commit for the Cardinal in their top-30 2026 class, joining 4-star shooting guard Aziz Olajuwon, 3-star point guard Slim Rogers, and 3-star shooting guard Elias Obenyah.

Hudl: Julius Price

Listed by FIBA as having dual citizenship with the United States and Sweden, Price has chosen to compete for Sweden in international competition, averaging 21.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game in the 2024 FIBA U18 EuroBasket. He brings a good all-around game to The Farm that should allow him to play both on and off the ball. At last year’s Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Massachusetts, Price had a solid performance. On3 | Rivals hoops recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw wrote of Price:

“Had a solid day for Santa Monica (CA) St. Joseph’s. The 6-foot-3 guard toggled well going on and off the ball throughout the game. He was streaky with his shooting, mixing a couple airballs in with some impressive makes. But he got the ball to the right spots and he has a physical frame. He finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists while finishing 3-7 from three in the game.”

When looking at Price’s film, what really stands out is his ability to shoot. There’s a lot of highlights of him making threes. He has a smooth form on his shot and seems confident shooting from beyond the arc. He also can hit threes both on and off the dribble, so he’s a versatile shooter that way. On top of Price’s ability to shoot, he has an ability to facilitate, rebound, and defend. Just all-around, he seems like a well-rounded player.

“We are ecstatic that Julius has chosen Stanford for the next step in his growth as a student-athlete,” Stanford head coach Kyle Smith said in the team release. “He adds to the diversity of our roster with his international roots in Sweden, where he was born and raised, and his success at one of the best programs in California and the nation, St. Joe’s.

“Julius understands winning at a high level. He has helped lead his high school program to unprecedented success, and he also helped engineer his EYBL program, Team WhyNot, to the finals of the most prestigious summer tournament at PeachJam in Augusta.

“Julius has two-way talent, he is an excellent defender while also having the ability to score in bunches. He can run an offense as your point guard or slide off of the ball and provide scoring.  He has an unselfish spirit and his willing to do whatever it takes to win.”

Overall, it seems like Julius Price has a lot to offer this Stanford program. Kyle Smith has a good eye for talent and seems to know what he’s looking for. It’ll be to see what Price brings to the Cardinal backcourt and how he develops during his time on The Farm.
