Stanford men’s basketball is set to begin their 2025-25 season. Stanford is coming off a season in which they went 21-14 overall and 11-9 in the ACC, losing in the second round of the NIT to Kent State. Despite their success last season, Stanford is picked to finish 17th in the ACC this season. The loss of Maxime Raynaud and Jaylen Blakes a big part of that. Ok, let’s dive in!

GoStanford.com: 2025-26 Stanford men’s basketball schedule

Stanford defeated Oregon in an exhibition the day before Halloween by a final score of 78-70. Chisom Okpara led the way for the Cardinal with 20 points and six rebounds.

RECAP: Stanford Men’s Basketball powers past Oregon in exhibition

Stanford will get things officially started on Tuesday, November 4th at home against Portland State. The Vikings are coming off a season in which they went 19-13 overall and 11-7 in the Big Sky, failing to make a postseason tournament after losing in the Big Sky tournament.

To dive a bit deeper into them since they are the opening game, their leading scorer from last year is back in senior guard Jaylin Henderson. Henderson averaged 13.0 points per game on 43.2% shooting from the field, 32.9% shooting from 3-point range, and 67.9% shooting from the foul line. Their number two scorer senior forward Terri Mililer Jr. is also back, averaging 12.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last season. Portland State has a solid one-two punch in Henderson and Miller, so Stanford better be ready.

Following their game against the Vikings, Stanford will welcome the Montana Grizzlies to The Farm on Saturday, November 8th at 1:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Grizzlies went 25-10 overall and 15-3 in the Big Sky last season, winning the Big Sky tournament before losing to (3) Wisconsin in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Their head coach Travis DeCuire is an excellent coach and always has his guys ready to play. This should be a good test for the Cardinal.

Stanford will then welcome Montana State to Maples Pavilion on Wednesday, November 12th at 7:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Bobcats went 15-18 overall and 9-9 in the Big Sky last season. So they’re not coming off a great season. On paper, Stanford should look to take care of business pretty handily in this one.

Stanford will then face Louisiana at home on Tuesday, November 18th. Tipoff is set for 7:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Ragin’ Cajuns went 12-21 overall and 8-10 in the Sun Belt last season. Stanford should look to pick up confident win in this one.

After hosting Louisiana, Stanford will welcome Seattle to The Farm on Friday, November 21st at 7:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Redhawks went 14-18 overall and 8-8 in the WAC last season. This year, they’ll be rejoining the WCC, which is where they truly belong. It’ll be fun to see how they do in that league. As for the game against Stanford, the Cardinal should look to win this one with little trouble, but every year there’s always a game or two that gives you more trouble than you’d like in the non-conference. So Stanford better be ready.

Stanford will then head to the Acrisure Invitational in Palm Desert, CA for Thanksgiving Weekend. On Thanksgiving Day, Stanford will face Minnesota at 6:30 PM PT on CBS Sports Network and then on Black Friday, they’ll face either Santa Clara or Saint Louis. That should be a good weekend for Stanford as they’ll get to face some quality programs that are around the same level as them. That will really be a good measuring stick weekend for the Cardinal.

To touch quickly on Minnesota, the Gophers have a new head coach in Niko Medved, so they’re in a similar situation as Stanford in terms of having recently experienced a leadership change. They’re coming off a season in which they went 15-17 overall and 7-13 in the Big Ten.

Stanford will then return home to face Portland on Monday, December 1st at 7:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Pilots went 12-20 overall and 7-11 in the WCC last season. This should be a smooth win for Stanford.

After facing Portland, Stanford will then face UNLV at home on Sunday, December 7th at 1:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Runnin’ Rebels went 18-15 overall and 11-9 in the Mountain West last season. They’re a solid team and could give Stanford some trouble though of course this game being at home should help a lot.

Stanford will then hit the road to face San Jose State on Saturday, December 13th at 4:00 PM PT on CBS Sports Network. The Spartans went 15-20 overall and 7-13 in the Mountain West last year, so on paper this should be a game Stanford wins. However, it will be on the road and I have a lot of respect for their head coach Tim Miles. He got the Spartans to play tough at Utah earlier this week, as they lost 84-75. This is a game that could get interesting if Stanford isn’t ready.

Stanford will then return home to face UT Arlington on Wednesday, December 17th. The Mavericks went 13-18 overall and 6-10 in the WAC last year. This one better be a smooth victory for the Cardinal.

Stanford will then hit the road to face Colorado at a neutral site for the Hall of Fame Series in Phoenix at the Phoenix Suns’ arena. That will be played on Saturday, December 20th at 5:00 PM PT on ESPNU. This will be a fun Pac-12 rematch. The Buffaloes had a rough season last year though, going 14-21 overall and 3-17 in the Big XII. It should be interesting to see if they can have a bounce back year. They’re usually a solid and challenging opponent.

Stanford will then come back home to finish non-conference play against Cal State Northridge on Saturday, December 27th. Tipoff will be set for 5:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Matadors went 22-11 overall and 14-6 in the Big West last season, losing to Stanford in the first round of the NIT 87-70. It should be an interesting rematch at Maples.

Stanford will then begin ACC at home on Thursday, December 30th against Notre Dame at 6:00 PM PT on ESPN2. The Fighting Irish went 15-18 overall and 8-12 in the ACC last season, picked to finish 10th in the ACC. Stanford had a narrow 56-54 loss at their place last year, so they’ll be eager to get some payback on The Farm.

Stanford will then welcome Louisville to The Farm on Friday, January 2nd at 5:00 PM PT on ACCN. The Cardinals are ranked No. 11 in the AP Top 25 and went 27-8 overall and 18-2 in the ACC last season, picked to finish 2nd in the ACC. They lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament to Creighton, so they’ll be eager to make a deeper run this year. Stanford lost 68-48 place at Louisville last season to close out the regular season.

After facing Louisville, Stanford will hit the road to face Virginia Tech on Wednesday, January 7th at 4:00 PM PT on ACCN. Virginia Tech went 13-19 overall and 8-12 in the ACC last season, losing to Cal in double overtime in the ACC tournament to end their season. The Hokies are picked to finish 12th in the ACC. Stanford defeated Virginia Tech 70-59 last season, so that should give the Cardinal some confidence.

Stanford will then face Virginia on the road on Saturday, January 10th at 11:15 AM PT on The CW. The Cavaliers went 15-17 overall and 8-12 in the ACC last season, picked to finish 5th in the ACC, so they are expected to have a bounce back season. This will be a really good challenge for Stanford especially with it being on the road.

Stanford will come home to face North Carolina on Wednesday, January 14th at 6:00 PM PT on ACCN. The Tarheels went 23-14 overall and 13-7 in the ACC last season, picked to finish 3rd in the ACC. They are currently ranked No. 25 in the AP Top 25, so on paper this should be a real test for Stanford. Stanford also defeated the Tarheels 72-71 last season in Chapel Hill, so they should come in extra motivated. The Tarheels lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament to Ole Miss after beating San Diego State in the First Four round.

After facing the Tarheels, Stanford will welcome Duke to The Farm for Saturday, January 17th. The Blue Devils are ranked No. 6 in the AP Top 25 and are the defending ACC champions, going 35-4 overall and 19-1 in the ACC last season, picked to finish 1st in the ACC this year. They lost in The Final Four to Houston by just three points (70-67). Stanford got beaten pretty handily at their place last year, but with what should be a packed Maples crowd, maybe Stanford makes this one interesting.

Stanford will stay home to welcome Cal to The Farm on Saturday, January 24th at 5:00 PM PT on ACCN. Cal went 14-19 overall and 6-14 in the ACC last year, picked to finish 16th in the ACC. Stanford swept Cal 3-0 last year including their win in the ACC tournament, so Cal will be motivated to get a little revenge. This one is always fun and usually competitive.

Stanford will then hit the road to face Miami on Wednesday, January 28th at 6:00 PM PT on ACC Network. Miami went 7-24 overall and 3-17 in the ACC last season, picked to finish 8th in the ACC. Stanford won handily last year against the Hurricanes, but with this being on the road and the Hurricanes expected to be a lot better, this will be a good test for sure.

Stanford will then face Florida State on the road on Saturday, January 31st at 3:00 PM PT on ACC Network. Florida State went 17-15 overall and 8-12 in the ACC last season, picked to finish 15th in the ACC. On paper, this will be about as winnable of a road game as Stanford is gonna have.

Stanford will then return home for the month of February as they welcome Clemson to The Farm on Wednesday, February 4th at 7:00 PM PT on ACC Network. Clemson went 27-7 overall and 18-2 in the ACC last season, picked to finish 7th in the ACC this year. They got a (5) seed in the NCAA tournament, losing to McNeese State in the first round 69-67.

Stanford’s next game will be at home against Georgia Tech on Saturday, February 7th at 5:00 PM PT on ESPNU. The Yellow Jackets went 17-17 overall and 10-10 in the ACC last season, picked to finish 13th in the ACC. This on paper should be one that Stanford is favored in assuming the season is going as they hope.

Following their game against the Yellow Jackets, Stanford will head to Beantown to face Boston College on Wednesday, February 11th. Tipoff is set for 6:00 PM PT on ESPNU, so a late game on the East Coast. The Eagles went 12-19 overall and 4-16 in the ACC last season, picked to finish 18th in the ACC. That said, I think their guard Donald Hand Jr. is really good as I gave him my vote for preseason ACC Player of the Year. He’s got a lot of game and should look to have a big-time season for the Eagles. This should be a fun one.

Stanford will then face Wake Forest on the road on Saturday, February 14th at 1:00 PM PT on ACCN. The Demon Deacons went 21-11 overall and 13-7 in the ACC last season, picked to finish 11th in the ACC. Stanford faced Wake Forest twice last season, losing both meetings, so there is some familiarity here.

Following their game at Wake Forest, Stanford will return to the Bay Area to face Cal on the road on Saturday, February 21st. Tipoff set for 3:00 PM PT on ACC Network. Stanford won at Haas Pavilion last season, but Cal is looking like a better team this year than last year, so this is going to be a really challenging road game. It’s always tough beating Cal at their place if you are Stanford. If Stanford wins this game, that would be massive.

After facing Cal in Berkeley, Stanford will stay home to welcome Pittsburgh to The Farm on Wednesday, February 25th at 5:00 PM PT on ACC Network. The Panthers went 17-15 overall and 8-12 in the ACC last season, picked to finish 14th in the ACC. Stanford should be heavily favored in this one.

After facing the Panthers, Stanford will welcome SMU to Maples Pavilion on Saturday, February 28th at 3:00 PM PT on ACCN. The Mustangs went 24-11 overall and 13-7 in the ACC last season, picked to finish 6th in the ACC. They lost in the second round of the NIT, so they had a very similar season to Stanford. Stanford and SMU split in the regular season last year, but with the ACC now going down to 18 league games, they’ll face just the once this this time in the regular season.

Stanford will wrap things up with one final road trip before the ACC tournament begins. On Wednesday, March 4th, they’ll head to South Bend to face Notre Dame. Tipoff set for 6:00 PM PT on ESPNU. This will be the second meeting between the two teams.

Stanford will then end the regular season at NC State on Saturday, March 7th at 11:45 AM PT on The CW. The Wolfpack went 12-19 overall and 5-15 in the ACC, picked to finish 4th this year and receiving votes in the AP Top 25, so they’ve clearly revamped. This one is a long way off, so it’ll be interesting to see what kind of team the Wolfpack have at this point of the season.

Hopefully for Stanford, they’ll then be able to be in a position to make some noise in the ACC tournament and possibly be in contention for a postseason tournament. That’s certainly the goal they have this year.

On the whole, this is an exciting schedule for Stanford just on the grounds of having Duke and North Carolina coming to town. Those are two of the biggest programs in college basketball. It’ll be fun for Stanford to face off against those guys in front of their home crowd. Hopefully for Stanford, they’ll get a strong crowd out for both games. It’s certainly nice to have a more exciting home schedule than road schedule. That’s for sure.
