Indiana's Chloe Moore-McNeil (22) jumps on a loose ball during the Indiana versus Stanford women's basketball game at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024.

With basketball season starting this week (actually technically last week if you count exhibitions), it is time for me to break down the 2025-26 Stanford women’s basketball schedule. Stanford is coming off a season in which they missed the NCAA tournament and lost in the first round of the WBIT. They are hoping to have a bounce back season, currently picked to finish 6th in the ACC. Ok, let’s get after it!

GoStanford.com: 2025-26 Stanford Women’s Basketball Schedule

Stanford had an 85-50 win over Cal State LA in their exhibition game last week. Chloe Clardy led the way with 20 points.

RECAP: Stanford Women’s Basketball powers past Cal State LA in exhibition

Stanford will begin their regular season on Monday, November 3rd at home against UNC Greensboro at 7:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Spartans went 25-7 overall last season and 13-1 in the Southern Conference. They won their conference tournament and fell to No. 1 USC in the opening round of the NCAA tournament 71-25. They had a strong season last year and will look to get back to the tourney once more.

To dig a little deeper on the Spartans since they are the opening opponent, their top two scorers from last season have moved on, making senior guard Jalia Lee their top returning scorer. Lee averaged 9.3 points per game on 41.5% shooting from the field, 38.5% shooting from 3-point range, and 73.6% shooting from the foul line. It’s in many ways a very different team than last year, but head coach Trina Patterson is entering her 10th season at the helm, so there’s a lot of consistency in that regard. This is definitely a solid opponent for Stanford to begin their 2025-26 season against.

Following their game against the Spartans, Stanford will face Santa Clara at home on Thursday, November 6th at 7:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Broncos are coming off a season in which they went 14-17 overall and 8-12 in the WCC. They ended the season on a five-game losing streak, so they are not entering the season with any momentum. That said, Santa Clara and Stanford are definitely rivals, so the Cardinal better be ready to roll for this one.

Stanford will then welcome Cal Poly to The Farm for the final game of their opening home stand on Sunday, November 9th at 1:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Mustangs went 14-18 overall and 8-12 in the Big West. Stanford defeated them 81-45 last year, so this one should be smooth sailing for Stanford.

Stanford’s opening road trip will then start on Friday, November 14th when they head to the Pacific Northwest to face Washington State at 4:00 PM PT on ESPN+. The Cougars went 21-14 overall and 14-6 in the WCC last season, though they lost to Stanford 94-65 when they faced off on The Farm. They also lost at home to Idaho 87-85 to open up this season, which is just rough. Stanford on paper will be heavily favored, but Pullman is always a tricky place to play, so this will be a good opening road test for the Cardinal.

Stanford will then face long-time foe Gonzaga on Sunday, November 16th at 2:00 PM PT on ESPN+. The Bulldogs went 24-11 overall and 17-3 in the WCC last season, losing to Stanford 89-58 when they met on The Farm. However, they did better in the postseason than Stanford, reaching the quarterfinals of the WBIT. Stanford has lost to Gonzaga in the past and The Kennel is never an easy place to play in. Stanford will need to be dialed in for this one.

Stanford will then come back home to face UC Davis on Thursday, November 20th at 7:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Aggies went 21-12 overall and 13-7 in the Big West last season. Stanford surprisingly struggled against the Aggies last season, narrowly winning 69-56. I’m sure that will be used as motivation for the Cardinal this year. On paper, Stanford should win handily, but given what happened last year, you can’t sleep on anybody.

Stanford will then face Lehigh on Sunday, November 23rd at 1:00 PM PT on ACCNX. Lehigh went 27-7 overall and 15-3 in the Patriot League last season. They won their conference tournament before getting dominated by Duke 86-25 in the NCAA tournament. On paper, Stanford should win handily, but any team that is coming off an NCAA tournament appearance is going to have some confidence.

Stanford will then head to Las Vegas for the Resorts World Classic over Thanksgiving weekend. On Friday, November 28th, Stanford will face Florida Gulf Coast and then on Saturday November 29th, they’ll face Colorado State. Both games will tipoff at 5:00 PM PT and air on Flo College.

Florida Gulf Coast went 30-4 overall and 18-0 in the ASUN. They lost to Oklahoma in the first round of the NCAA tournament 81-58, so they’re a dangerous team. As for Colorado State, they went 22-10 overall and 13-5 in the Mountain West. They lost in the first round of the Mountain West conference tourney to Fresno State 54-52. Both of these games will be a good neutral site test.

Stanford will then return home to face Tennessee on Wednesday, December 3rd at 6:15 PM PT on ESPN2. The Lady Vols went 24-10 overall and 8-8 in the SEC last season, losing in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA tournament to Texas by a final score of 67-59. Tennessee is currently ranked No. 8 in the AP Poll, so on paper this is the toughest opponent Stanford has on their non-conference schedule.

Stanford will then take a break for final exams before welcoming Cal to The Farm to open up ACC play on Sunday, December 14th at 1:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Bears went 25-9 overall and 12-6 in the ACC last season, losing in the first round of the NCAA tournament to Mississippi State. Cal swept Stanford in the regular season last year, so you know Stanford is going to be eager for some payback. Cal is currently picked to finish 12th in the ACC.

Stanford will then face Washington at home on Friday, December 19th at 7:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Huskies went 19-14 overall and 9-9 in the Big Ten last season. They were upset by Columbia in the first round of the NCAA tournament by a final score of 63-60, so that was a bummer for them. Another old Pac-12 matchup at Maples should be fun.

Stanford will then head to the Chase Center in San Franscisco face Oregon on Sunday, December 21st at 3:00 PM PT on ESPN. That will be part of the Invisalign Bay Area Classic that will also feature USC and Cal. Oregon went 20-12 overall and 10-8 in the Big Ten last season. They lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament to Duke 59-53 after defeating Vanderbilt 77-73. This should be a fun game for the Cardinal. Old Pac-12 rival at the Warriors/Valkyries arena. What’s not to like?

Stanford will then close out non-conference play on Sunday, December 28th against Cornell at 1:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Big Red went 7-20 overall and 3-11 in the Ivy League last season. Stanford should win this one handily.

Stanford will then dive into ACC play again as they face NC State on the road on Thursday, January 1st. The Wolfpack are ranked No.9 in the AP Poll, coming off a season in which they went 28-7 overall and 16-2 in the ACC and are picked to finish 2nd in the ACC. They fell to LSU in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA tournament last season and will look to make a legit run at the Final Four.

Stnafodr will then face North Carolina on the road on Sunday, January 4th. Tipoff TBA. North Carolina went 29-8 overall and 13-5 in the ACC last season and they’re currently picked to finish 3rd in the ACC and ranked No. 11 in the AP Poll. They lost to Duke in the Sweet Sixteen last season 47-38, so they’ll be eager to make a deeper run this year.

Stanford will then come home to face Wake Forest on Thursday, January 8th at 7:00 PM PT on ACCNX. Wake Forest went 9-20 overall last season and 2-16 in the ACC. They are currently picked to finish last in the ACC at 18th. Stanford should win this one handily.

Stanford will stay home to face Duke on Sunday, January 11th at 2:00 PM PT on ESPN. Duke went 29-8 overall and 14-4 in the ACC last season, currently ranked No. 7 in the AP Top 25. They are picked to finish 1st in the ACC, so they are legit. Duke made a run to the Elite Eight before losing to South Carolina and will hope to make the Final Four this year.

Stanford will then hit the road to face Boston College on Thursday, January 15th at 3:00 PM PT on ACCNX. Boston College went 16-18 overall and 6-12 in the ACC last season, reaching the first round of the WBIT. Stanford should look to pick up a road win in this one

Stanford’s will then face Syracuse on Sunday, January 18th at 11:00 AM PT on ACCN. Syracuse went 12-18 overall and 6-12 in the ACC. Stanford should expect to get another road win.

After that, Stanford will hit the road to face Cal on Sunday, January 25th at 3:00 PM PT on ACCN. Cal is always tough on the road and they’ll be fired up to win this one. Stanford better be ready. That’s all I need to say.

Stanford will then return home to face Louisville on Thursday, January 29th. The Cardinals went 22-11 overall and 13-5 in the ACC last season, currently ranked No. 20 in the AP Top 25. They are picked to finish 4th in the ACC and lost in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament to TCU 85-70. This will be a legit home test for Stanford.

Stanford will then face Notre Dame at home on Sunday, February 1st at 1:00 PM PT on The CW. Notre Dame is currently ranked No. 15 in the AP Top 25 and is coming off a season in which they went 28-6 overall and 16-2 in the ACC. They are picked to finish 5th in the ACC. They reached the Sweet Sixteen before falling to TCU 71-62.

Stanford will then hit the road to face Pittsburgh on Thursday, February 5th at 3:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Panthers went 13-19 overall and 5-13 in the ACC last season and are picked to finish 16th in the ACC. This ought to be a road win for the Cardinal.

On Sunday, February 8th, Stanford will face Georgia Tech on the road at 11:00 AM PT on ACCNX. The Yellow Jackets are picked to finish 15th in the ACC, coming off a season in which they went 22-11 overall and 9-9 in the ACC. They’ve clearly lost some pieces. They did reach the NCAA tournament last season as a 9 seed, but they got dominated by Richmond in the first round 74-49.

Stanford will then come home to face Virginia Tech on Thursday, February 12th at 7:00 PM PT on ACCNX. The Hokies went 19-13 overall and 9-9 in the ACC last season, losing in the second round of the WBIT. They are currently picked to finish 10th in the ACC. This will be solid home test for Stanford.

As for the next game, on Sunday, February 15th, Stanford will welcome Virginia to The Farm. Tipoff slated for 11:00 AM PT on The CW. Virginia went 17-15 overall and 8-10 in the ACC last season, currently picked to finish 7th in the ACC, so there’s a chance they contend for an NCAA tournament spot this year.

Stanford will then play Miami on the road on Thursday, February 19th. Tipoff set for 5:00 PM PT on ACCN. The Hurricanes went 14-15 overall and 4-14 in the ACC last year. They are picked to finish 8th in the ACC, so they are expected to have an improved season.

Stanford will stay in the Sunshine State to face Florida State on Sunday, February 22nd at 11:00 AM PT on ACCN. The Seminoles went 24-9 overall and 13-5 in the ACC last season, losing in the second round of the NCAA tournament to LSU 101-71. The Seminoles are picked to finish 9th in the ACC, so they’ll be another solid team.

Stanford will then return home to face SMU at home on Thursday, February 26th at 7:00 PM PT on ACCNX. SMU went 10-20 overall and 2-16 in the ACC, currently picked to finish 14th in the ACC.

Stanford will then finish out the regular season at home on Sunday, March 1st against Clemson. Tipoff is set for 11:00 AM on The CW. Clemson went 14-17 overall and 6-12 in the ACC last season, barely missing out on the WBIT. Clemson is currently picked to finish 11th in the ACC.

After the Clemson game will come the ACC tournament and hopefully the NCAA tournament. With the incoming freshman class they have combined with their returning players, Stanford is hoping to get back to the dance and make a run. It’ll be interesting to see how the season goes for them.
