Stanford football has released their injury report in advance of Saturday’s home opener against Boston College. Below is the breakdown.

READ: Stanford releases Boston College depth chart

The following guys are out: Linebacker Jahsiah Galvan, wide receiver Jordan Onovughe, cornerback Jordan Washington, linebacker Teva Tafiti, wide receiver David Pantelis, cornerback Aaron Morris, cornerback Javion Randall, linebacker Tre Williams, wide receiver Jason Thompson, defensive lineman R.J. Gaskins, offensive lineman Nate Mejia, offensive lineman Simione Pale, defensive lineman Kole Briehler, offensive lineman Jack Leyrer,  wide receiver JonAnthony Hall, tight end Reiman Zebert, tight end Zach Giuliano, and defensive lineman Zach Buckey

The following guys are questionable: wide receiver Owen van Loben Sels

The following guys are probable: tight end Griffin Waiss

First off, as I’ve previously reported on the message boards, both Pantelis and Leyrer are out for the season, so we’ll see them on the injury report every week. Not having Teva Tafiti hurts and is a surprise to see. He’s one of the top pass rushers on the team at the outside linebacker spot. With him out, guys like Wilfredo Aybar and R.J. Cooper are going to have to step up.

No Jordan Washington hurts the secondary and depth at cornerback. We can expect Brandon Nicholson to get a lot more snaps as a result. And then, not Jordan Onovughe and JonAnthony Hall certainly hurts the wide receiver room. With Pantelis out for the season, they’re already getting thin at that spot, so any additional loss is going to hurt. Has to be the next man up mentality on that front.

Lastly, as was previously reported by Reich earlier in the week, no Simione Pale. He’s the top offensive lineman on the team, so it hurts to lose him. Look for Fisher Anderson to fill in at that spot and get a lot of snaps as a result.
