GAME THREAD: 128th Big Game (Cal at Stanford)
Cal and Stanford are meeting up fro the 128th time in history on the gridiron. The Bears trail in the all-time series against their Bay Area rival but Cal has defeated Stanford in four consecutive meetings. Justin Wilcox‘s team has already secured bowl eligibility, so there is nothing directly on the line for the Bears.
The Cardinal will be playing strictly for pride with bowl eligibility out of reach for Frank Reich’s group. The Big Game always has plenty of memorable plays and unforgettable moments. This year should be no different.
Palo Alto will be the spot as the Bears head back to Stanford Stadium for this year’s matchup. The last time Cal visited its rival, receiver Trond Grizzell came away as Big Game Hero after catching two touchdown passes in 2023.
The senior is looking to close his career undefeated against his rival. Grizzell mentioned this week that he has yet to lose the Axe while suiting up for the Bears.
