Four Minnesota Golden Gopher commitments are ranked in the latest Rivals 300 update, released on Monday.
The Gophers in the cycle are led by in-state tight end commitment Roman Voss. The Jackson County Central Senior is ranked as the No. 179 overall in the country in the Rivals 300 and the No. 7 athlete in the country. He remains the state’s top prospect. From a Rivals industry ranking standpoint, Voss is ranked No. 241 in the country and the ninth-best athlete.
The second-highest ranked commitment in the class is Texas running back Ryan Estrada, who committed to the Gophers last month. The El Dorado standout is ranked as the No. 221 player in the country and the No. 21 running back. He’s also considered the No. 28 player in the state of Texas. In the industry rankings, Estrada now sits at No. 378 nationally while being ranked as the No. 25 running back and No. 47 player in the Lone Star State.
Next up is in-state defensive lineman Howie Johnson. The Forest Lake Senior standout is ranked No. 241 by Rivals and the No. 18 defensive lineman in the country. He’s also ranked as the No. 3 player in the state of Minnesota by Rivals. In the industry rankings, Johnson is ranked No. 322 nationally, is the No. 35 defensive lineman, and No. 3 in the state.
Notably, Triton High School standout athlete/tight end Pierce Petersohn, a former target of the Gophers in the cycle, was ranked No. 2 in the state. Petersohn is committed to Penn State.
The last Gopher ranked within the Rivals300 is EDGE rusher Aaden Aytch who is ranked No. 294 overall and the No. 29 EDGE defender. He’s also the No. 3 player in the state of Indiana behind Oklahoma commitment TE Tyler Ruxer and Purdue OL commit Brock Brownfield.
Rivals is quite a bit higher on Aytch than the industry rankings that have him ranked No. 594 nationally, the No. 56 EDGE, and the No. 7 player in Indiana.
