The Minnesota men’s basketball program has landed a commitment from Crean Lutheran (CA) center Chadrack Mpoyi.

The 6-foot-11, 230-pound prospect announced his decision to be a Golden Gopher on Thursday. He chose the Gophers over a handful of other offers, including UC Santa Barbara, Utah State, and Oregon State. He took visits to each of those programs, including the Gophers.

Mpoyi previously visited Minnesota on August 28, coinciding with the Minnesota football program’s season opener against Buffalo.

Mpoyi joins Rivals 300 prospects Nolen Anderson, a small forward from Wayzata High School in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and point guard Cedric Tomes, a standout at East Ridge High School in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Mpoyi is rated as a three-star prospect in the Rivals Industry rankings as well as the No. 215 player in the country, the No. 26 center, and a top-30 talent in the state of California.
