Minnesota football will take on the Purdue Boilermakers (2-3, 0-2) this Saturday at Huntington Bank Stadium in their annual homecoming game.

Head Coach Profile: Barry Odom

Now with his third program as a head coach, Odom made the move to West Lafayette this offseason after a successful two-year stint at UNLV, leading the Rebels to a 19-8 (12-3 MWC) record over two seasons. He also previously spent four years at Missouri from 2016 through 2019, going 25-25, including 13-19 in SEC play. Overall, in seven seasons as a head coach, Odom has a career record of 46-36.

The Boilermakers enter this weekend with a 2-3 record and losers of three-straight. After starting the season with back-to-back wins over Ball State and Southern Illinois, the Boilermakers under first-year head coach Barry Odom have lost games to USC, No. 24 Notre Dame, and No. 22 Illinois.

Minnesota football and Purdue have faced each other 79 times since 1894, with the Gophers winning 41 of 79 matchups and holding a 41-3-35 advantage. Purdue has won each of the last two meetings in 2022 and 2023. Before the back-to-back losses, the Gophers had won four straight and eight of nine against the Boilermakers.

Player to Watch: WR Nitro Tuggle

The former Georgia wide receiver is having a big start to the season for Purdue with 13 receptions for 224 yards and three touchdowns. After starting the season with just three receptions for 54 yards and one touchdown against Ball State and Southern Illinois, Tuggle has posted 10 receptions for 170 yards and two touchdowns.
