Gophers in the NFL: How former Minnesota football stars played in week two

Week one of the 2025 NFL season is officially in the books. Here is how former Golden Gophers performed in week two of the NFL season.

WR Rashod Bateman | OG Daniel Faalele – Baltimore Ravens

Bateman had two receptions for 15 yards on four targets in Baltimore’s 41-17 win over the Cleveland Browns. He now has four receptions for 25 yards this season.

CB Terrell Smith – Chicago Bears

Smith is out for the season with a knee injury.

TE Brevyn Spann-Ford – Dallas Cowboys

Spann-Ford had one reception for three yards in Dallas’s 40-37 win over the New York Giants. It was his first reception of the new season.

CB Justin Walley – Indianapolis Colts

Walley is out for the season with a knee injury.

S Eric Murray | DE Danny Striggow – Jacksonville Jaguars

Murray had his first interception of the season as well as seven tackles in a 31-27 loss for Jacksonville against Cincinnati. Murray has 14 tackles through two games, one interception, and three pass deflections. Danny Striggow is currently on the Jaguars’ practice squad.

CB Benjamin St-Juste – Los Angeles Chargers

St. Juste had two tackles, including one solo tackle, in a 27-21 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday night in Brazil.

LB Cody Lindenberg – Las Vegas Raiders

Lindenberg recorded one tackle in Las Vegas’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

QB Max Brosmer | LB Blake Cashman – Minnesota Vikings

Brosmer did not appear in the Vikings’ Sunday Night Football loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Cashman was placed on the IR this past week with a hamstring injury and will miss at least four games..

LB Jack Gibbens – New England Patriots

Gibbens recorded two tackles in the Patriots’ 33-27 win over the Miami Dolphins.

S Jordan Howden – New Orleans Saints

Howden played for the Saints in their 26-21 loss to San Francisco but did not record any stats.

S Tyler Nubin | OC John Michael Schmitz – New York Giants

Nubin recorded five tackles, including one tackle for loss, in a 40-37 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

WR Tyler Johnson – New York Jets

Johnson had no receptions in a 30-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He did record one target.

DT Kyler Baugh | DE Esezi Otomewo – Pittsburgh Pittsburgh

Kyler Baugh is a part of the Steelers’ practice squad and did not play in their loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Otomweo was inactive as well.

TE Nick Kallerup | OLB Boye Mafe – Seattle Seahawks

Kallerup was inactive for the Seattle Seahawks against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mafe recorded one tackle in the Seahawks’ 17-13 loss.

S Jack Henderson | TE Ko Kieft | Antoine Winfield Jr – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Winfield Jr had four tackles in the Buccaneers’ 20-19 win over Houston, bringing his season total to five. Ko Kieft played but did not record any stats. Jack Henderson did not appear and is a member of Tampa Bay’s practice squad.
