Minnesota Football Injury Report: Which Gophers are unavailable against the Hawkeyes?
The Minnesota Golden Gophers’ injury report for their week nine matchup against the Iowa Hawkeyes has been released.
The Gophers will be missing two key pieces of their secondary, with cornerback Mike Gerald and safety Garrison Monroe both out for the game.
Gerald is missing his third game in a row for the Gophers and his fifth overall. He has not appeared for Minnesota since their loss at Ohio State. Monroe will miss the game for the second time in a row and the fourth time in the program’s last five games. He played 15 snaps against Purdue in week seven.
Also out for Minnesota on Saturday are wide receiver Logan Loya and linebacker Jeff Roberson.
Notably, not listed on the injury report is Minnesota starting cornerback John Nestor, who missed last week’s win over Nebraska. Nestor transferred into the Gophers’ program this past spring after spending two years with Iowa.
The Iowa Hawkeyes will be without wide receiver Jarriett Buie, wide receiver Dayton Howard, running back Brevin Doll, and defensive lineman Luke Gaffney. Tight end DJ Vonnahme is questionable.
