Minnesota Countdown to Kickoff: No. 44 TE Frank Bierman

Minnesota’s countdown to kickoff is down to just 44 days, and moving into the player spotlight is now Frank Bierman. Sixth-year senior tight end Frank Bierman. The Tipton, Iowa, native enters his fourth year with the Golden Gophers after spending two seasons at Iowa Western Community College.
Bierman is coming off a 2024 season in which he made his debut with the Golden Gophers. The Iowa native would appear in all 13 games for the Gophers, recording one reception for 13 yards. Overall, Bierman totaled 139 snaps over those 13 games, with a majority of them (84) being run blocking snaps per Pro Football Focus.
In 2025, Bierman will once again be a part of the Golden Gophers’ rotation at tight end but will have a smaller role. Bierman’s role will once again predominantly be as a run blocking specialist at tight end while Jameson Geers and Purdue transfer Drew Biber get a majority of the pass catching opportunities.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers will kick off their 2025 season on August 28 against the Buffalo Bulls at Hunginton Bank Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and will be televised natioanlly on Fox Sports 1.
