Newstand: Fall camp right around the corner for the Gophers

The Minnesota Golden Gophers are set to kick off their 2025 season in just 40 days on August 28 at Huntington Bank Stadium against the Buffalo Bulls. This upcoming week at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada, the build-up to the 2025 season will hit another milestone: Big Ten Media Day.
The Golden Gophers will be a part of the festivities on the second day of Big Ten media days on Wednesday, kicking off the day at 11:30 a.m. PT. Joining head coach P.J. Fleck in Vegas will be defensive back Koi Perich, defensive lineman Anthony Smith, and running back Darius Taylor. Quarterback Drake Lindsey was previously announced to be headed to Vegas alongside the trio, but it now appears that is no longer the case.
Gophers Nation will be present at Big Ten media days on Wednesday.
After media days conclude next week, the Golden Gophers will then be almost set to begin fall practices. FBS teams are allowed to begin practices one month before their season opener. Be sure to follow along with our Minnesota countdown to kickoff series, as we highlight a current Golden Gopher (if applicable) each day.
