Minnesota injury report: Darius Green questionable, Gophers get key DB back
Minnesota’s week two availability report for their matchup against Northwestern State was released on Saturday, two hours before kickoff. After a lengthy week one availability report in week one, the Gophers have another lengthy report this week.
Notably, not listed on the injury report is key defensive back Jai’Onte McMillan. The former TCU transfer was listed as questionable last week but did not play in the game against Buffalo. McMillan is expected to line up most of the time this season at nickelback. Last week, with Darius Green and McMillan both out, safety Aidan Gousby was the Gophers’ starting nickel.
Darius Green is the only questionable player this week. The fifth-year senior was having a strong fall camp before an injury slowed him down as the season approached. After missing week one, it appears that the Covington, Georgia native could see the field in week two, though it wouldn’t be surprising if he was once again held out.
10 Gophers are listed as out on Saturday, including slot receiver Cristian Driver and cornerback Mike Gerald, both were expected to have notable roles this fall.
