Last time out
Minnesota (3-1): The Gophers’ last time out was an ugly 72-65 win over the Green Bay Phoenix in overtime at Williams Arena. It was a game in which the Gophers failed to find a true offensive groove beyond that of Cade Tyson (27 points) and Jaylen Crocker-Johnson (11 points). Minnesota as a team still finished with a fine shooting percentage of 42% but they did struggle from three-point range, shooting just 27% from deep (6-for-22) while also struggling massively at the free-throw line, making just 20-of-39 free-throw attempts.
Chicago State (0-4): The Cougars dropped their fourth game in a row to start the season, falling to the UIC Flames 67-63 at home. The Cougars shot 41% from the floor in the loss but struggled from three-point range, making just 5-of-20 attempts (25%). They were led in the loss by senior guard Braelon Bush, who recorded 15 points, shooting 6-of-13 from the floor. Senior guard Marcus Tankersley, senior forward Stephen Byard, and senior forward CJ Ray all finished with double-digit scoring efforts as well.
Injury Report
The Gophers on Saturday were still without senior guard Maximus Gizzi, junior guard Chance Stephens, and junior forward BJ Omot. It is unlikely that any of them will return on Tuesday night for the Gophers.
