Nine Boilermakers to know ahead of Minnesota's week seven matchup against Purdue

As we continue to preview this weekend’s matchup between Minnesota and Purdue, Gophers Nation takes a look at eight Boilermakers that Minnesota fans should know ahead of Saturday.

Purdue Offensive Players

QB Ryan BrownePFF Grade: 80.8

Browne, in his third season with the program, has completed 107-of-172 passing attempts (62.2%) for 1,338 yards and seven touchdowns. In five games this season, Browne has thrown for over 300 yards three times and 250 yards four times. Last week against Illinois, he completed 30-of-50 passing attempts for 302 yards and one touchdown.

RB Devin MockobeePFF Grade: 74.2

Mockoebee has seemingly been around the Purdue program forever, but this is just his fourth season on the field. This season has been a slow one for Mockobee on the ground, averaging just 3.8 yards per carry on 81 carries, totaling 304 rushing yards. In the last three seasons, Mockobee averaged at least 4.7 yards per carry. Last week against Illinois, the senior tailback had his best game yet, rushing for 58 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.

WR Michael Jackson IIIPFF Grade: 62.5

The former USC and Georgia wide receiver is having a career season with Purdue this season, with 32 receptions for 305 yards and one touchdown. Last week against Illinois, Jackson had 14 receptions for 94 yards. He also had four receptions for 62 yards against Notre Dame and seven receptions for 70 yards against USC.

WR Nitro TugglePFF Grade: 58.3

The former Georgia receiver has 13 receptions for 224 yards and three touchdowns this season. Last week against Illinois, he recorded three receptions for 35 yards. He also had three receptions for 66 yards against Notre Dame and four receptions for 69 yards against USC.

Purdue Defensive Players

DE CJ Nunnally IVPFF Grade: 69.9

The Akron transfer only has 13 tackles this season in five games, but does have 3.5 tackles for loss and three sacks. Last week against Illinois, he had a strong game with six tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and one sack.

LB Carlos CorreaPFF Grade: 51.8

Correa made the move from UNLV to Purdue this offseason alongside Odom. In five games with Purdue so far, Correa has totaled 49 tackles, four tackles for loss, and two sacks.

LB Mani PowellPFF Grade: 63.8

Powell followed Barry Odom to West Lafayette from Las Vegas this offseason and has been one of the Boilermakers’ top players. In five games, Powell recorded 37 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and one sack.

S Myles SlusherPFF Grade: 70.8

The former Arkansas and Colorado safety already has totaled 37 tackles in five games, including 24 solo tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack. He also has one pass deflection and one forced fumble.

K Spencer PorathPFF Grade: 60.7

The sophomore kicker is perfect this season in field goal opportunities, making all seven of his field goal attempts, including a pair from 40+ yards. His long for the season is 48 yards.
