Minnesota dismisses defensive line coach Dennis Dottin-Carter
The first staff change of the offseason has been made for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. On Friday afternoon, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that Minnesota defensive line coach Dennis Dottin-Carter was dismissed by P.J. Fleck. Gophers Nation has since confirmed Dottin-Carter’s dismissal.
In his lone season as defensive line coach, the Gophers finished the season with 35 sacks, which was tied for the ninth most in college football, albeit 28 of those 35 came at home within Huntington Bank Stadium. The Gophers’ run defense was among the best in the country, allowing 121.5 yards per game, good enough for 33rd nationally.
Dottin-Carter was also a strong recruiter for Minnesota in the 2026 recruiting class, recruiting top-50 defensive line talent Aaden Aytch, a class that also featured four-star Howie Johnson, three-star Anthony Charles, and three-star defensive tackle Jeremiah Benson.
This is a developing story
