EAST LANSING, Mich. – Arkansas Razorbacks wing Karter Knox entered Saturday’s top 25 matchup against the No.22 Michigan State Spartans with just over five minutes into the first half after missing the season opener against Southern with a toe sprain.

Knox went through warmups and it was mentioned on the Razorback Sports Network pregame show that he would be available. Knox immediately nabbed a steal that led to a fast break layup by true freshman guard Meleek Thomas.

Hogs second year head coach John Calipari mentioned after the win over Southern that Knox’s availability would depend on how much practice time he would be able to get in throughout the week.

“We have one more day off tomorrow, but if you can’t practice Wednesday, Thursday, Friday then you can’t play,” Calipari said. “You are going to be able to go 70% in the game? You can’t do it. If you are not healthy enough to go, then you should not go. We will play with who we have.”

Knox was selected preseason All-SEC Third Team by both the media and coaches, along with being named one of 20 small forwards on the Julius Erving Award watch list after withdrawing from 2025 NBA Draft consideration to return to Arkansas.

Last season, Knox appeared in all 36 games at Arkansas and started 24 of those games. He averaged 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, but turned it up a notch in the NCAA Tournament, when he scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds against St. John’s and then dropped 20 points with four threes against Texas Tech in the Sweet 16.
