The Arkansas Razorbacks will have a new starter at quarterback in their season finale against the Missouri Tigers.

Redshirt freshman KJ Jackson was announced at kickoff to his first collegiate start over senior Taylen Green, who started all previous 11 games and has 24 starts as a Razorback over the past two seasons.

Jackson entered the Texas game last week in the third quarter after Green threw a bad interception, but Green also appeared to be banged up on the sideline. Despite getting cleared to come back in, interim head coach Bobby Petrino opted to stick with Jackson to finish the 52-37 loss to the Longhorns.

“Taylen was given the clear to come back in the game,” Petrino confirmed in his Monday press conference. “When they told me that Taylen is ‘ready to go’ – that was the words they said, Taylen’s ready to go – I said we were going to stay with KJ. I thought he earned it, we got three scores with him in the game and I thought he did a good job.”

Jackson led three scoring drives against Texas, finishing 16 of 29 for 206 yards and a touchdown, plus added a score on the ground.

Green has averaged 312 total yards per game in 2025, which ranks sixth nationally, but has mightily struggled in the past four games throwing six interceptions to just two touchdowns. Green’s 11 total picks are second-most in the SEC and he has surrendered multiple interceptions in four games.
