Early Look: Breaking down Nebraska's 2027 TE Big Board

We continue our 2027 Big Board series with a talented tight end board. Marcus Satterfield has Nebraska in the mix for three top-ten tight ends, including the No. 1 tight end in the country. The Huskers quietly expanded the board as well this spring and a wide array of options as they look to add at least one dynamic weapon behind 2026 tight end commit Luke Sorensen
Here’s an early look at Nebraska’s board.
Top Dawg
Nebraska has emerged as a top contender for 2027 Ruston (La.) four-star tight end Ahmad Hudson, the top-ranked tight end in the Rivals industry rankings. Hudson visited Nebraska for the first time in spring, spending time with both the football and basketball staff. Considered a top 2027 basketball prospect as well, Hudson aims to play both sports at the next level. He returned June 6-8 for the Battle at the Boneyard tournament and the Hudl Futures Forum.
While in town the second time around, he earned an offer from Fred Hoiberg, officially vaulting Nebraska into ‘top contender’ category. He’s got a long-standing relationship with 2027 Nebraska quarterback commit Trae Taylor and the two have discussed playing together at the next level extensively. Ultimately, beating out in-state LSU for Hudson will prove difficult. The Tigers were the first to offer and they’ve been setting the pace in his recruitment since. Schools like Texas A&M, Alabama and Ohio State are among other top contenders. Look for Nebraska to get the top-ranked tight end back in town for a game this fall.
Other Top Targets
Behind Hudson, Nebraska has two elite regional targets at the position. The Huskers have hosted Saint Charles (Mo.) Francis Howell Central four-star Jack Brown and Pierre (S.D) T.F. Riggs four-star Cooper Terwilliger on campus multiple times to date. In-state Missouri is the early favorite for Brown, and he has top programs like Texas, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Notre Dame and Michigan in the running as well. He has multiple staffers at Nebraska recruiting him. Terwilliger has a national recruitment but there aren’t many schools that have had the four-star on campus more than Nebraska. Notre Dame, Michigan, Iowa, Kansas State and Tennessee are among other top contenders for the South Dakota standout.
Brown ranks as the No. 6 tight end, while Terwilliger slots in as the tenth-ranked tight end in the Rivals industry rankings.
Next in Line
Nebraska expanded their tight end board a bit this spring. Choctaw (Okla.) four-star Titus Hawk is a relatively new target on the board. He ranks as the No. 13 tight end nationally with in-state Oklahoma standing out early on. Detroit (Mich.) Country Day four-star Anthony Cartwright is a new addition to Nebraska’s board with some familiarity with the aforementioned Trae Taylor. Programs closer to home are the early standouts in his recruitment but the Huskers will look to get him on campus this fall.
Danville (Kent.) Boyle County four-star Seneca Driver is another recent offer worth tracking. Same goes for Las Vegas (Nev.) Arbor View four-star Zac Fares, one of two prospects from Arbor View the Huskers are in the running for. Michigan, Ohio State and Miami are the frontrunners there. In the region, Kindred (N.D) four-star Brooks Bakko is a rising prospect worth monitoring, Nebraska has yet to offer but could change that after evaluating his junior year.
Nebraska was an early offer for Fort Worth (Tex.) North Crowley three-star Jeramie Cooper and he remains a target at least on the Huskers’ radar, even as the tight end board has expanded.
