Year 3 of the Matt Rhule Era inside the Nebraska football program officially got underway on Monday morning.

On the practice fields at Hawks Championship Center, the Huskers began fall camp with the first practice of preseason training camp.

The media was allotted a 20-minute open window to view practice, which offered Inside Nebraska an opportunity to snag five observations that stood out. Some of the highlights included Carter Nelson showcasing his physical stature and growth, Gunnar Gottula and the Nebraska offensive line, the quarterback work led by Dylan Raiola and offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen – in addition to quarterbacks coach Glenn Thomas – and new punter Archie Wilson showing off his leg.

Afterward, the Nebraska coach spoke with the media to give several updates, progress reports and more.

That featured Rhule confirming that Wilson will be able to punt the ball with his left and right foot. The Nebraska coach also said that running back Kwinten Ives tweaked something during practice and had to leave the field early today. He also gave the latest on Nelson, who Rhule said the coaching staff limited a bit today during the practice session. Nelson didn’t do any of the special teams drills, but did everything else.

One of the most notable updates – which is along the same lines as the notes from Rhule on Ives and Nelson – came on the health front as Rhule rattled off a lengthy list in Nebraska’s latest injury report.

Here is the full list of players who Rhule said are dealing with injuries as Nebraska begins fall camp:

>> Linebacker Roger Gradney
>> Defensive lineman Gabe Moore
>> Defensive back Preston Okafor
>> Running back Trent Uhlir
>> Wide receiver Demitrius Bell
>> Defensive lineman Conor Connealy
>> Offensive lineman Nolan Fennessy
>> Offensive lineman Juju Marks
