WATCH: Matt Rhule bye week press conference
Matt Rhule has led Nebraska football to a 7-3 record.
After starting the season with a 3-0 mark – via a 20-17 season-opening win over Cincinnati, a 68-0 domination of MAC opponent Akron and a 59-7 blowout over FCS team Houston Christian – they weren’t able to get the job done against Michigan in a disappointing 30-27 loss at home. The Huskers bounced back with nice wins over Michigan State and Maryland, then came out flat and disappointing in a loss at Minnesota but rebounded with a gutty win over Northwestern.
Then, in a College Football Playoff elimination game against USC, the Huskers faltered in the second half during a 21-17 loss.
The Huskers (7-3 overall, 4-3 Big Ten), however, bounced back yet again in a rather tough spot, going on the road to the West Coast and coming home with a 28-21 victory over UCLA. That victory allows Nebraska to enter its second-and-final bye week with optimism and momentum as it rests up for the final two-week stretch.
The Huskers will travel to face Penn State (3-6, 0-6 Big Ten) in Happy Valley on Saturday, Nov. 22. Then, they wrap up the regular season vs. Iowa (6-3, 4-2) at 11 a.m. CT on Black Friday (Nov. 28) in Memorial Stadium.
