Big Board Reset: What’s next for Nebraska DB recruiting?
Nebraska suffered two tough losses on the recruiting trail this week, losing out on four-star safety Devin Jackson to Oregon and in-state three-star cornerback Darion Jones to Iowa in back-to-back days.
So what’s next for Addison Williams? The Huskers will likely have to flip a defensive back or two, unless they choose to expand the board. With four-star cornerback Danny Odem committed, and 19 underclassmen defensive backs currently on the roster, Williams is primarily seeking out one safety this cycle and potentially one more cornerback.
Expect Nebraska to maintain communication with four-star safety Devin Jackson, despite his insistence that his recruitment is shut down following his commitment to Oregon on Thursday. Williams and a few others on staff have forged a strong relationship with Jackson and his family. Though he’s happily committed, on-field results in the fall could get the Huskers back in the mix.
Nebraska will likely ramp up pursuit of Florida State four-star safety commit Tedarius Hughes, who hails out of Miami (Fla.) Northwestern. Hughes made an unofficial visit to Nebraska last month and is planning…
