Game Week No. 3 for Nebraska football is in full force.

Year 3 of the Matt Rhule Era – the most pivotal of his tenure thus far as the Huskers’ head coach – began with a crucial season-opening win, 20-17, over Big 12 opponent Cincinnati in Week 1 and continued on Saturday night in a dominant 68-0 blowout of MAC foe Akron in Week 2.

Nebraska (2-0) has jumped out to a 2-for-2 start to the 2025 season for the second consecutive season. It’s the first time the Huskers have begun the year 2-0 in two straight seasons since starting 2-0 in 2013 and getting out to a 5-0 record in 2014.

On Saturday, the Huskers have a chance to start 3-0 in back-to-back seasons for the first time since jumping out to a 5-0 mark in 2010 and following up with a 4-0 start in 2011.

Nebraska will be looking to get that job done against an opponent out of the FCS, the Houston Christian Huskies, who have started the season 1-1 after their own shutout win, 69-0, over NAIA foe Arkansas Baptist in Week 1 and suffering a 20-10 loss to fellow FCS program Eastern Kentucky in Week 2.
