Sherron Collins talks to the media after TBT victory

In the opening round of TBT on Saturday afternoon, JHX Hoops, coached by former Kansas point guard Sherron Collins, defeated OffDaHook, 91-78.
In the win, JHX Hoops was led by Billy Preston (19), Cliff Alexander (17), Marcus Bell (15), and Zeko Mayo (11).
Down 3-0 to open the game, JHX Hoops quickly took the lead over OffDaHook and never looked back.
With four minutes left in the fourth quarter, the game was stopped and, as is always the case in TBT games, the Elam Ending was in play.
While there were a few tense moments, JHX Hoops was determined to end the game with a three, which had Collins visibly frustrated on the bench.
“Yes, I had to tell them to stop shooting threes,” said Sherron Collins after the game. “I was going to call a timeout and tell them, but I just yelled and told them to stop shooting. I was going to use a word that I don’t like to use, but they started listening.”
JHX Hoops, which gained control of the contest late in the game, simply dominated OffDaHook in the frontcourt.
Preston (19 and 6), Cliff Alexander (17 and 11), and Marcus Bell (15 and 6) dominated OffDaHook on both ends of the court.
Preston was simply on another level against OffDaHook.
In scoring 19 points, he was 7-of-11 from the field, 1-of-3 from behind the arc, and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line.
“I’m going to keep saying that (Billy Preston is a pro),” said Collins after the game. “The dude is a pro and he’s a matchup problem.
“He brings so much to us,” he added. “He’s just a big problem.
JHX Hoops set to face Purple Reign at 8:00 on Monday
After meeting in an exhibition game on at UMKC last Thursday, JHX Hoops and Purple Reign will meet on Monday night.
In that exhibition game, JHX Hoops emerged victorious following a made free-throw by Zeke Mayo. This time around, the stakes will be much higher.
“The guys that played here, they actually understand it,” said Collins. “Jamari Traylor and a few others will tell the guys what it means. For us, every chance we get to play them, we want to beat them.”
