The Big 12 released the first availability report for the Sunflower Showdown and things looked pretty good on the Jayhawks end.

Both Kansas and Kansas State are coming off a bye giving them an extra week to get players healthy. Lance Leipold said on Monday they wanted to see where things were trending.

“We’re not as healthy as we’d like to be yet in some spots, and some guys didn’t practice yesterday (Sunday),” he said. “But we’re hoping as we get to game day and we get to this first, I think you’ll be able to see some of that in the first report here on Wednesday where we’re kind of trending.”

The Tuesday and Wednesday practices must have yielded positive results as most players on the list were probable. That includes Devin Dye who did not play the last game and is the highest rated defensive player according to PFF.

Running back Leshon Williams has been battling injuries throughout the season and was listed as questionable. But that hasn’t been uncommon this year.

“Leshon keeps working at it,” Leipold said. “I’ll tell you this, I got a lot of respect for him because he’s one of those guys on Mondays and Tuesdays he’s not moving real well. But he’s also going to say, coach, I’ll be there for you on Saturday. The game’s important to him and playing is important to him and he does what he can.”

Maybe the biggest news is on the Kansas State side where Dylan Edwards is listed as out and will not play. Here is a look at the availability report.
