WATCH: Bill Self provides the latest on his health and much more

On July 24, Kansas head coach Bill Self was hospitalized after experiencing what KU described as “some concerning symptoms.”
Self also underwent a heart procedure and is expected to make a full recovery.
According to the release from Kansas, Self had two stents inserted during the procedure. He wasn’t feeling well on Thursday and later went to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.
On July 26, Self was released from Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
“I want to thank all the amazing doctors and nurses at LMH Health for the excellent care I received during my stay there,” said Bill Self. “I feel strong and am excited to be home.
“Our team has had a productive summer and look forward to our batteries being recharged and prepping for this upcoming season,” he added.
The 2025-26 season will be Self’s 23rd season at Kansas, where he has a career 609-148 record.
This past season, Kansas entered the year as the No. 1-ranked team in college basketball for the second straight year.
However, Kansas finished the 2024-25 season with an overall record of 21-13 and 11-9 in the Big 12.
Bill Self, on Friday afternoon, conducted a weekly press conference in Lawrence and touched on a number of topics.
