The 2025 season is underway, and a handful of programs have made quick impressions.  One such program was Mississippi Gulf Coast, who blasted East Mississippi in the season opener on Thursday night.

Gulf Coast moved up three spots this week to No. 4 in the rankings after a 41-21 win over perennial power East Mississippi.  JCGridiron Preseason All-America First Team selection Landon Varnes was solid, throwing for 426 yards and two scores.  East Mississippi fell to No. 17 in the rankings with the loss.  Gulf Coast will host Delta on Thursday.

Another with an impressive performance on day one was El Camino College, who throttled Santa Barbara City College 68-6.  Preseason All-America selection running backs Azeon Nelson and Jaden Moore were part of a rushing attack that ran for 220 yards on the ground.  El Camino jumped up to No. 8 in the rankings with the win.  The Warriors will host no. 54 Canyons on Saturday.

College of the Sequoias entered the Dirty 30 for the first time in years after a 21-13 win against previous No. 13 American River.  The Giants now sit at No. 18 in the rankings while American River fell to No. 25.  Sequoias will now host No. 39 San Francisco while American River will try to bounce back against No. 21 Diablo Valley.

Another squad that surprised on opening day was Southwestern College, who beat previous No. 24 College of the Canyons, 26-24.  JCGridiron Preseason Watch List quarterback Brayten Silbor was impressive, finishing 27-of-38 for 287 yards and three scores.  Southwestern is on the bubble at No. 37 this week, which is the highest ranking for the Jaguars in Dirty 30 history.

Here is the rest of the JCGridiron Dirty 30 Rankings.  Just a reminder, the Dirty 30 Rankings do not count games against unaffiliated programs or club programs in its rankings.
