Michigan and Washington have met more times than normal over the past few seasons. The Wolverines hosted the Huskies in the first-ever Maize Out at the Big House in 2021. That matchup was followed by a meeting in the 2023 national championship game, and a trip to the Pacific Northwest by Michigan last season.
Prior to the 2021 meeting, the two programs had not played each other since 2002. This year’s contest, though, will mark the fourth meeting between the squads in the last five seasons.
Overall, Michigan is 10-6 against Washington, having won the first five matchups, as well as three of the last four. Of course, Washington got the better of Michigan last season at Husky Stadium.
However, Michigan won the most important matchup in the series’ history, defeating Washington 34-13 in the national championship in Houston.
