AP Poll: Mizzou jumps to 23

The Missouri Tigers entered the AP Poll at No. 25 after winning the Border War in Week 2. Following a Week 3 win against Louisiana, the Tigers are up to No. 23.
Missouri followed up the Border War win that got it ranked with a 52-10 win against Louisiana. But more helpfully, multiple teams ahead of the Tigers lost in Week 3.
While the Tigers were rising, No. 8 Notre Dame (0-2) lost to Texas A&M and fell all the way back to No. 24 and No. 11 South Carolina (2-1) lost to Vanderbilt and fell all the way out to receiving votes.
No. 12 Clemson (1-2) lost again and dropped out to receiving votes. And No. 15 Tennessee (2-1) fell to Georgia but stayed put at No. 15.
No. 18 South Florida (2-1) lost to Miami and fell out to receiving votes.
And all those losses left room for the Tigers to climb. Now they face RV South Carolina this week, with games against No. 14 Alabama, No. 22 Auburn, No. 20 Vanderbilt, No. 10 Texas A&M and No. 11 Oklahoma awaiting.
The biggest fall in this week’s AP Poll was Notre Dame going from top 10 to No. 24.
The biggest rise was Georgia Tech going from unranked to No. 18.
BYU, South Florida, South Carolina, Mississippi State and TCU are the top five teams receiving votes.
