How Mizzou, Kansas starters ranked as recruits

Missouri will play its first Power Four matchup of the 2025 season Saturday, renewing the Border War rivalry with Kansas.
While the season opener’s edition of “starters ranked as recruits” showed select players with their transfer rankings, the Week 2 post will revert to high school. Quarterback Sam Horn — who entered last week in a position battle with Beau Pribula — is the lone omit from the Week 1 due to a leg injury knocking him out indefinitely. Here’s how the Tigers and Jayhawks starters ranked as recruits.
Missouri:
Quarterbacks: Beau Pribula
Running backs: Ahmad Hardy, Jamal Roberts
Hardy never received a high school rating from the top four recruiting networks, so his transfer portal card remained in this article.
Wide receivers: Joshua Manning, Kevin Coleman Jr., Marquis Johnson
Tight ends: Brett Norfleet, Jordon Harris
Offensive line: Cayden Green, Dominick Giudice, Connor Tollison, Curtis Peagler, Keagen Trost
Like Hardy, Trost doesn’t have an On3 | Rivals profile from high school.
Defensive linemen: Zion Young, Marquis Gracial, Sterling Webb, Chris McClellan, Damon Wilson II
Linebackers: Triston Newson, Josiah Trotter
Defensive backs: Daylan Carnell, Jalen Catalon, Marvin Burks Jr., Drey Norwood, Toriano Pride Jr., Stephen Hall
Kansas
Quarterback: Jalon Daniels
Running back: Daniel Hishaw Jr.
Wide Receivers: Levi Wentz, Keaton Kubeka, Emmanuel Henderson, Cameron Pickett, Doug Emilien
Tight end: DeShawn Hanika, Biden Groen, Carson Bruhn, Leyton Cure
One of the four primary tight ends for the Jayhawks, Cure also never received a high school rating by the major networks. He played in all 12 games in 2024 after transferring in from Fort Hays State, where the now redshirt junior played three seasons.
