For the sixth consecutive year, Mizzou has earned a bowl bid. This year, the Tigers will head to the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl, where they will face Virginia. The game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 27 in Jacksonville.

The streak of six consecutive bowl bids is the second-longest run in school history, just behind a stretch of seven straight bowl appearances from 2005-2011.

Mizzou earned its spot in a bowl once again earlier than most after starting the season 5-0, then winning a sixth game in Week 7.

This year, the SEC will send 10-of-16 teams into the postseason.

Georgia, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Oklahoma and Alabama will play for a championship as part of the 12-team College Football Playoff.

Texas will play Michigan in the Citrus Bowl, while Vanderbilt will go to the ReliaQuest Bowl against Iowa.

Tennessee (playing Illinois in the Music City Bowl) and LSU (playing Houston in the Texas Bowl) are the SEC’s final bowl representatives.

As the Tigers fight for a third consecutive bowl win, they are also trying to claim a 30th win across the past three years and a third consecutive nine-win season for the first time in program history.

The current run of Missouri bowl appearances is:

  • 2025: Mizzou vs. Virginia in the Gator Bowl
  • 2024: Mizzou 27, Iowa 24 in the Music City Bowl
  • 2023: Mizzou 14, Ohio State 3 in the Cotton Bowl
  • 2022: Wake Forest 27, Mizzou 17 in the Gasparilla Bowl
  • 2021: Army 24, Mizzou 22 in the Armed Forces Bowl
  • 2020: Mizzou vs. Iowa in the Music City Bowl canceled due to COVID
