Mizzou continues pursuit of East Coast talent with offer to 2027 TE JT Geraci

Excitement struck JT Geraci in April.
As he watched the NFL Draft, where his New York Jets selected Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou seventh overall, Geraci got a glimpse at the Tigers’ recent success. The Jets also added another former True Son in quarterback Brady Cook right after the Draft, but at the time, Geraci didn’t know an offer from Missouri was right around the corner.
“That was awesome to see, too,” the Class of 2027 tight end said. “I know he played pretty well last year.”
Tigers tight ends coach Derham Cato planned to visit Geraci for a spring workout. Due to a busy travel schedule, Cato never made the trip to Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep. Yet the two remained in touch, with Cato offering the three-star pass-catcher in late June.
“He thinks I’m able to do everything as a tight end,” said Geraci, a 6-foot-5, 230 pounder. “Put my hand in the dirt and block and then also go out and run routes.”
Looking for the best culture fit, he already started planning a long list of visits for this fall. With his father handling the schedule, Geraci never ruled out Missouri being on his calendar. The tight end heard positives about the Tigers’ recent facility upgrades, but Cato made the biggest first impression for the program.
“He actually called my parents and got to know them,” Geraci said. “He definitely wants to get to know me and my family, which is really important. … He’s definitely someone that I could see myself playing for. I’m looking forward to meeting him in person when I go out there for a game.”
Spreading its recruiting reach, Missouri planted its flag in Pennsylvania the past two recruiting cycles. With Beau Pribula and Matt Zollers rostered and Gavin Sidwar committed in the 2026 class, the Tigers have started to build familiarity with more East Coast recruits.
“Coach Cato, he actually mentioned that,” Geraci said. “He had a couple guys up from my area actually come to Mizzou. He’s looking for me to be the next one.”
