We’re back in action with fall camp coverage, and so are the Missouri Tigers this past week. We had a ton of stuff, and it’s easy to miss other things around Mizzou Athletics in the flurry of fall camp.

Here’s a recap of what we didn’t cover last week in Mizzou Athletics, with links to what we did.

Football

I opened the week with another photo gallery update of the NEZ construction. Then Kenny wrote about the Tigers’ top offensive targets getting updated in the Rivals300. Kenny added a story about WR Matthew Gregory hearing from the Tigers, then he wrote about Mizzou legacy Ridge James providing an outlook on his development.

Kenny added a story about former Mizzou fullback Ron James reliving his son’s state title game at Faurot Field. Then I completed my series looking at the best wins of the Eliah Drinkwitz Era with No. 1.

Kenny added a story about the Tiger defensive targets getting update in the Rivals300, then I wrote about Drinkwitz’s announced contract extension.

Kenny wrote about Mizzou offering Ohio TE D’Angelo White. Then I continued my look through historic Border War matchups with a look at 1966. Kenny added a story about Mizzou becoming the first Power 4 program to offer ATH Ahmad Billins, then I completed my post-spring depth chart series with a look at the safeties.

I answered questions from the week on our fall camp coverage plan, media polls and evaluating talent, then fall camp began.

Just from Day 1: I wrote about Drinkwitz updating the quarterback battle timeline, then I added a recap of the coach’s camp-opening press conference. I added a Said and Unsaid to analyze the press conference, then wrote about Sam Horn signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Throughout the week, I continued my look at the most important Mizzou players in 2025. Here are the stories from last week:

Men’s Basketball

I completed my series looking at the best wins of Dennis Gates’ tenure with No. 1.

Kenny wrote about Mizzou joining the recruitment of 2026 SF Maximo Adams.

I didn’t do a full story on it, but freshman Nicholas Randall was named Freshman Captain or “Captain in training” alongside team captains Anthony Robinson and Mark Mitchell.

Softball

Mizzou commits Sid Forrester and Addy Waits competed in the Alliance National Tournament starting Saturday.

Mizzou commit Abby Carr competed in the PGF High School All-American game Saturday.

Wrestling

Mizzou great Ben Askren has continued posting updates on his health recovery after a lung transplant.

Cross Country

The Tigers announced their full schedule for the year.

Missouri will host four home meets at Gans Creek Cross Country Course.

“We are thrilled to announce our 2025 cross country schedule, highlighted by our three home meets,” Missouri cross country coach Kyle Levermore said. “It is an honor to bring the NCAA Championship to Columbia for the first time ever. Gans Creek is the premier destination for collegiate cross country in 2025. Our team has been hard at work in the offseason and we are excited to return nearly our entire team from the 2024 season along with some fresh faces.”

Missouri opens the season with the Mizzou Opener on Aug. 29, then the Tigers will go on the road for the only time this season for the Greeno Dirksen Cross Country Invite on Sept. 20 hosted by Nebraska.

Mizzou returns home to host a meet on Sept. 26 and another on Oct. 18 for the Pre-National Invitational.

The postseason will begin Oct. 31 at the SEC Championship hosted by Tennessee. The NCAA Midwest Championship will be Nov. 14 at Oklahoma State, then the NCAA Championship begins in Columbia on Nov. 22.

Tennis

Tiger tennis coach Bianca Turati resigned to accept an associate head coach position at Texas.

Missouri promoted associate head coach Silvia Chinellato to interim head coach.

“We appreciate Brianca’s dedication to our program over the past three years, and we wish her all the best moving forward,” Missouri Athletic Director Laird Veatch said in a statement. “Silvia has been a great addition to our program since her arrival, and she brings previous head coaching experience and high-level playing experience to this role as interim head coach as we head into the 2025-26 season.”

Chinellato joined the Tiger staff on Sept. 6, 2024 after spending the 2023-24 season at Mount St. Mary’s.
