2027 CB Trezavant Boyd looks to reconnect with Mizzou after spring offer

When Missouri tight ends coach Derham Cato made a late-May stop to Hialeah (Fla.) Mater Academy Charter, his target wasn’t present.
Trezavant Boyd, a Class of 2027 cornerback, missed school that day, but Cato still got a hold of the three-star to offer him over the phone. Boyd, the No. 30 recruit in Florida, received his fourth SEC scholarship from the furthest Power Four program from his home to offer him.
Along with other schools to offer Boyd this offseason, Missouri saw one play stick out: a pick-6 against Miami (Fla.) North Miami Beach. Boyd, a 5-foot-10, 150-pound cornerback, played back in coverage and quickly made up ground on the receiver running an in-route.
“That showed I really have ball skills,” he said. “Me playing special teams showed I can tackle, showed that ability as well.”
Boyd transferred to Matter Academy from Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington to follow defensive coordinator Tim “Ice” Harris, a former running backs coach at Miami. This season, Boyd will play more nickel cornerback, the position he’s projected to play at the next level.
Although Missouri frequented Florida for recruits in the past years under head coach Eli Drinkwitz, Boyd never took notice of the Tigers from afar. With the offer on the table, he wanted to reach back out to the staff this week.
FIU, Florida State, Georgia, Illinois and Miami all made early impressions on Boyd. The No. 35-ranked cornerback in the 2027 class will look into unofficial visits with the Seminoles and Bulldogs this fall.
