Players to know

Offense

Unlike last year’s game, there is not much of a question which quarterback the Tiger defense will match up with in this year’s game.

Reed has fully taken over the Texas A&M offense this year, completing 137-of-223 (61.44 percent) of his passes for 1,972 yards, 17 touchdowns and six interceptions.

He’s also a primary rushing threat with 348 yards and six touchdowns on the ground.

The 6-foor-1, 185-pound redshirt sophomore has had a range of success in games.

His best performance yardage wise was 360 against Notre Dame, but that was also his only game with a completion percentage lower than 50 percent.

He’s had as little as 180 passing yards in a game, hitting that mark against Mississippi State.

Against LSU the last time out, he was 12-of-21 for 202 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He threw one interception per game from Games 3-through-6.

The Aggies use a pair of running backs pretty equally. Owens has the lead in attempts with 78 compared to Moss’ 70 and Owens leads in yards 440-389.

But Moss leads in touchdowns 6-3.

Owens, a 5-11, 215-pound redshirt sophomore led the Aggies’ win against Mississippi State with 142 yards, but otherwise hasn’t reached 70 in a game.

Moss, a 5-11, 210-pound senior, led the win against Auburn with 139 rushing yards, but otherwise has only one game with more than 70 yards (Notre Dame with 81).

You might remember Moss from his 138-yard, three-touchdown performance against Mizzou last season.

The pair are pretty evenly split, so expect to see both.

Similarly, the Aggies use a pair of receivers pretty evenly.

Craver, a 5-9, 165-pound sophomore, leads the way with 40 catches for 716 yards, which has kept him near the top of the SEC receiving leaderboard through the year.

He cruised out to a fast start to the season with 443 yards and four touchdowns across the Aggies’ first three games. But since then, he has 29 catches for 273 yards and no scores in five games.

Concepcion, a 5-11, 190-pound junior, has stayed around 50 yards per game since SEC play began, outside of a 113-yard performance against Auburn.

He has four touchdowns the past four weeks.

The pair will give the Tiger secondary multiple serious options to keep an eye on.

Defense

Standing at 6-2 and 248 pounds, Howell, a Kansas City native, is one of the premier edge rushers in college football.

The redshirt senior who graduated from Rockhurst, has blown up this season, leading the SEC (and currently third in the country) with 9.5 sacks.

He has harried quarterbacks throughout the year, including three passes deflected.

Howell had two tackles against Mizzou last season.

The 5-10, 227-pound junior jumped into a started role immediately as a true freshman in 2023 and has maintained it since.

York leads Texas A&M with 45 total tackles, while notching 3.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 sack to go with one forced fumble, three QB hits and a pass breakup.

His best game was a 10-tackle, 1.0 TFL performance against UTSA to open the season. But he also produced 10 tackles against Mississippi State.

His sack came against Auburn.
