NCHSAA Football RPI Rankings Released After Week 3 (1A-8A)

The first official NCHSAA RPI rankings of the 2025 football season are here, giving fans and teams their first look at how playoff positioning is shaping up across all classifications.

The RPI (Ratings Percentage Index) formula factors in a team’s winning percentage, opponents’ winning percentage, and opponents’ opponents’ winning percentage. Unlike other sports, RPI is the only factor that determines playoff seedings in football — meaning every game and every opponent’s result matters from here on out.

With three weeks of action complete, unbeaten teams have climbed quickly to the top of the charts, while others with tough early schedules are still hanging around thanks to strong opponent strength.
