The NCHSAA’s Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) is a formula that factors in a team’s winning percentage, opponents’ winning percentage, and opponents’ opponents’ winning percentage to help determine playoff seeding. Rankings are updated weekly throughout the regular season and play a key role in postseason placement.
