Rio Rancho’s overtime win over Volcano Vista gives the Rams a huge boost to No. 3 in 6A and No. 4 overall and solidifies their claim as a top-four seed. La Cueva, Hobbs, and Centennial remain steady, each putting up convincing wins in Week 9 to stay within striking distance of a top-five finish. Cibola climbs to No. 9 overall and No. 8 in 6A after handling Farmington 28-10, while Los Lunas (now 5-2) sits just outside the top ten overall but No. 9 in 6A following a 38-0 shutout over Santa Fe. Further down, Albuquerque High continues to rise, jumping to No. 15 in the class after a 17-14 win over Eldorado, marking one of the better turnaround stories in 6A this season.
