The 2025 season has officially kicked off, and NMPreps.com is rolling out its first Top-25 statewide rankings of the year. This list includes the very best programs in New Mexico regardless of classification, from powerhouse Class 6A programs to smaller-school state contenders.
Cleveland opens at No. 1 after capturing its fourth state title in the last five years, but the Storm aren’t the only team with championship aspirations. Las Cruces and La Cueva return loaded rosters, Centennial remains one of the toughest regular season teams in the state, and perennial powers like Artesia, Roswell, and Bloomfield show the strength that exists outside of 6A.
Every program in the Top-25 has a storyline heading into Week One, whether it’s proven stars, emerging talent, or expectations to defend district and state crowns. Here’s where everyone stacks up entering the 2025 season:
