David Taylor‘s recruiting prowress continues to show via results. He has been able to land highly-rated prospects across the country. The latest one comes from Oklahoma State’s back yard.

Ignacio Villasenor of Stillwater High School announced his commitment on Friday. Villasenor is No. 4 overall in FloWrestling’s 2027 Big Board.

“I am so excited to announce that I have committed to Oklahoma State University.” Villasenor wrote in an Instagram post. “I want to thank my parents, coaches, family, and friends for all their support and encouragement. They have helped me every step of the way, and I couldn’t have done it without them. I’m truly grateful for their love, support and belief in me.

“I’m looking forward to starting this new chapter at OSU, I couldn’t be any prouder of myself, as this has been a goal/dream of mine for a very long time.”

Villasenor won an Oklahoma 6A state championship at 113 pounds this past season, after moving in from Colorado. As a freshman in 2024, he won a Colorado state championship at 113 as well.

He is also proven at the national and international level. Villasenor earned bronze at the 2023 U17 World Championships at 45kg. He also won bronze at the 2025 U17 U.S. Open at 55kg. He subsequently won the U20 World Team Trials at 57kg before ultimately losing a best-of-three to represent the U.S. internationally to Cornell 2025 signee Anthony Knox.

Villasenor’s commitment gives Taylor his first commit in the top 10 of the 2027 class. In the 2026 class on Flo’s Big Board, Taylor and OSU have four verbals in the top 10, and still have a shot at No. 1 Bo Bassett.
