Pitt veteran tight end and captain Jake Overman will miss his second consecutive and will not play in the Backyard Brawl.

Overman, a redshirt senior, was not dressed for warmups and is out with an injury against West Virginia.

Pitt willy rely on Marshall transfer Justin Holmes, sophomore Malachi Thomas and walk-on Josh Altsman in the tight end room. Holmes and Altsman both caught touchdown passes last week against Central Michigan.

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Overman started against Duquesne and caught just one pass for three yards. He did not dress against Central Michigan.

After transferring to Pitt from Oregon State in 2024, Overman caught 17 passes for 160 yards and one touchdown.
