2026 Rutgers EDGE commit Rinaldo Callaway III continues rise in rankings

Rutgers Football’s Class of 2026 verbal commit Rinaldo Callaway III continues to move up in the Rivals300 rankings following the latest update on Monday morning.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound edge rusher is now ranked as the No. 245 overall recruit in the country and maintains a 90 overall rating per the updated Rivals300 rankings.
This is a another big upgrade for Callaway III, as he went unranked all the way up to No. 285 back in early September and was bumped again, moving up 40 total spots to No. 245 overall per Rivals.
The Georgia native just recently started his senior season of football, playing at Southwest High School in Macon, Georgia, where he has played both side of the ball this season. On offense, Callaway plays tight end, where he’s already hauled in 23 receptions for 430 yards and three touchdowns. On the flip side, he plays edge on defense and has 65 total tackles (44 solo), 18.0 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, 4 QB hurries, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and four interceptions.
As for Callaway III’s recruitment, he was originally committed to South Florida back on April 29th and flipped to Rutgers on June 2nd following an Official Visit to campus. In the end, he chose the Scarlet Knights over 13 other offers from schools such as Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Tulane, Virginia, Wake Forest, and many others.
With the update, Callaway III is the only member of Rutgers Football’s 2026 class in the Rivals300 rankings, but they do have multiple four-star recruits per the industry rankings, which combines all three recruiting ranking services together.
