Notable Knights
Week Eight was a less news-worthy one for former Scarlet Knights, but the players in action still made their respective impacts.
Isiah Pacheco
He kept up his usual production in another dominant win for the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night. Though he did not reach the end zone, he once again led the team in carries, though Kareem Hunt still took the lion’s share of goal-line work, as he scored a touchdown rushing and receiving. Pacheco dealt with a scare at the end of the game, though, as he took a hit directly on his knee in the fourth quarter.
In classic Pacheco fashion, however, he sprang back up and looked like his usual self on the sideline after getting checked out at the medical table. He did not return, as the game was solidly in hand. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday that the fourth-year back is considered week-to-week with an MCL sprain.
Kyle Monangai
The Chicago Bear continued to see his role increase midway through his rookie year, though the Bears’ four-game win streak was snapped at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens. Monangai nearly matched starter D’Andre Swift in terms of snap count, though Swift doubled the rookie’s output and scored a touchdown. Where Monangai made a difference, however, was in the pass blocking. Swift saw six pass blocking snaps to Monangai’s five, and the Rutgers rookie earned a 62.7 grade from PFF, compared to a 16.7 for Swift.
With a potential for a more positive game script against a woeful Cincinnati Bengals defense coming up, Monangai could once again be in line for some increased production.
Jude McAtamney
The New York Giants released the second-year Irish kicker following his two missed extra points in last week’s one-point loss to the Denver Broncos, but he was re-signed to the team’s practice squad later in the week.
Usual starter Graham Gano was activated off the injured reserve prior to Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, and made all four kicks in the game.
