Rutgers Football announces TV information for Week Ten game at No. 23 Illinois

On Monday afternoon, the Big Ten announced several kickoff times for the upcoming week ten of the college football slate, including Rutgers‘ game at No. 23 Illinois.
The Scarlet Knights and Fighting Illini will face off in Champaign, Illinois, on national television, with a noon Eastern kickoff broadcast on NBC. The game will kick off at 11am Central time in Illinois.
At the time of this writing, Rutgers Football is 3- 4 (0-4) and Illinois is 5-2 (2-2) – also ranked 23rd in the latest AP Poll – in the 2025 season.

Game stakes
The two teams match up for the tenth time in each respective program’s history, with the Illini leading the series 6-3. They won the most recent matchup at SHI Stadium 38-31 in November of 2024, spoiling the Scarlet Knights’ Senior Day festivities. Rutgers led early on, but Illinois – ranked No. 24 in the College Football Playoff rankings at the time – mounted a comeback that resulted in a stunning 40-yard walk-off touchdown by wideout Pat Bryant as time expired. Head coach Greg Schiano infamously called a timeout prior to a missed 57-yard field goal that would have ended the game.
This year’s matchup will have similar stakes, as the Scarlet Knights are still looking for the elusive first ranked win for the program since 2009. The currently-ranked Illini face off against Washington this upcoming weekend, so if they defeat the Huskies, Rutgers will have a second chance at a ranked win over Illinois in as many years.
