Reacting to Rutgers Football landing 2026 DB Jamareis Conyers from Florida: TKR LIVE
The Knight Report Podcast is back and the Rutgers Football has added yet another recruit to their already pretty filled 2026 recruiting class, as defensive back Jamareis “JJ” Conyers out of Florida made his decision recently.
Conyers’ Background
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound cornerback hails from Riverview, Florida, and currently plays for Sumner High School outside of Tampa Bay, continuing the program’s tradition of identifying talent in the Sunshine State. He is the third Florida commit in the 2026 class, joining safety Sebastian Cruz and defensive lineman Reece Beck.
Conyers first earned his offer from the Scarlet Knights in March, before taking an unofficial visit a month later during the program’s spring practices. He later took his official visit during Rutgers’ first weekend hosting on May 30th. He did not commit while on the visit, and also took other official visits to Oregon State (May 9th), the Wolfpack (June 6th), the Demon Deacons (June 13th), and South Florida (June 20th).
While it appeared Wake Forest had an early edge in his recruitment, Rutgers stayed with Conyers throughout the process and ultimately won out. He becomes the 11th recruit from the initial visit weekend to have committed to the program, and the ninth currently committed.
