Rutgers Football wide receiver DT Sheffield is among the top rated wide receiver in the new EA Sports College Football 26 video game.

After reviving the once dead franchise last offseason, EA Sports is all set to release a new version of the video in just a few days and just like last year, the game has decided to release little teasers each and every day.

On Tuesday, several college football programs took to social media to post some of their highest rated players in the game and for Rutgers Football that was new transfer wide receiver DT Sheffield, who received a 90 overall.

Sheffield joined the Scarlet Knights this offseason after a strong year with North Texas, where he exploded for 66 receptions for 822 receiving yards and a team-high 11 touchdowns. Those numbers were good enough to earn him All-AAC First Team honors, as well as an Honorable Mention All-American selection by College Football Network.

While we don’t know where exactly where that 90 overall rating will slot him among all the wide receivers throughout the country, we do know that he’s just outside the top five. According to EA Sports Twitter account, the top five receivers in the country are Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith (98 ovr), Alabama’s Ryan Williams (95 ovr), Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson (94 ovr), Indiana’s Elijah Sarratt (93 ovr), and Georgia Tech’s Eric Rivers (92 ovr).

Obviously video game ratings don’t define how good a player truly is, it does offer a good indicator of the caliber of player that one could be this upcoming 2025 season.

The EA Sports College Football 26 video game is expected to be released on July 10th, 2025. However players who preorder the Deluxe Edition or the MVP Bundle will be able to get early access to the game starting on July 7th, 2025.
