Luke (6-0, 185) is the son of Clemson offensive line coach Matt Luke.
He nabbed an offer from the Tigers the first day it opened the door on rising junior pursuits June 1.
A week later, he stood out at a team 7-on-7 camp at UGA — the last school at which his father worked. Kirby Smart and secondary coach Travaris Robinson invited him back for a personal workout two days later, after which the Dawgs pulled the trigger on an offer.
Ole Miss — another of his dad’s former employers, and where he has deep ties — immediately responded. Auburn and Tennessee then hopped in as well, with Georgia Southern and Western Kentucky having also thrown their names in the hat.
Two of Clemson’s first three 2027 commitments have come from extended family: linebacker Max Brown, brother of starting linebacker Sammy Brown; and corner PJ Chancellor, son of former Tigers corner Chris Chancellor Sr.
In our Recruiting Big Board series published in late July, we informed subscribers that we had confidence in predicting Clemson continues this trend, and it being just a matter of when.
“Recruiting is cool, and you see all the pictures from official visits and stuff,” Luke told us during the summer. “But when it comes down to it, you want to do it the right way. Coach Dabo Swinney taking an opportunity on me, that means a lot to me. Obviously you want to have respect in how he did it and his belief in you, so you want to handle it the right way. You can go and enjoy the recruiting process, but in the end, I think it’s more about doing things the right way rather than going to see all the places you can.
“Obviously you want to go see all the places and take in all the games and atmospheres and that kind of stuff, just because it’s new. Once the new washes off all these places, you don’t know what you’re going to get. Clemson, because you’ve been here, you know what you’re going to get when that washes off.

“Coach Swinney, they win, and they do it the right way. I love how he is as a person is how they are as a program. You’re a winner, but you’re also doing it the right way, and I think that’s really cool.”

Luke attended Saturday’s primetime game with LSU and hung out primarily with Max Brown and Gainesville (Ga.) four-star quarterback pledge Kharim Hughley.
He becomes the fourth member of Clemson’s 2027 class.
