Caroline Wins On MNF

Caroline had to travel to Colonial Heights twice due to weather issues, but the trip was made worthwhile with a 33-7 win. The Cavaliers scored on their 1st three drives and scored the game’s final 21 points to improve to 2-0.
Quarterback Blake Morris did his best Michael Vick impression, wearing #7 and running through the Patriots’ defense for 75 yards rushing, including two touchdown runs. He also completed 14 of 22 passes for 268 yards and a touchdown pass to his brother, Blair Morris.
Colonial Heights fumbled the opening kickoff, giving the Cavaliers a short field. Morris had an 18-yard run and a quarterback sneak for the 1st touchdown.
Tre Coles had a 27-yard run on the next possession, and Blake finished the drive with a touchdown pass.
Colonial Heights completed a 60-yard scoring drive and cut the Cavaliers’ lead to 12-7 with 9:49 to go in the 2nd quarter.
But that would be the last time the Patriots made it into the endzone.
Caroline scored on a 67-yard drive on the next possession with a Blake-to-Blair connection on a 41-yard reception. Blake scored from 12 yards out for a 19-7 lead.
Neither team scored in the third quarter, with both teams fumbling, resulting in turnovers. Caroline scored two rushing touchdowns in the 4th and led 33-7 with five minutes to go,
Top Performers
Running back Tre Coles finished with 51 yards and a touchdown, while Trason Fletcher added 35 yards on six carries with a touchdown. Dre Coleman had 80 yards rushing on nine carries.
The Cavaliers had three receivers who averaged 20 yards or more receiving against Colonial Heights. Sophomore Blair Morris had five receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown.
Angelo Toure finished with two sacks, and Tronte Ballard had nine tackles to lead the defense.
