Game Blog - Oscar Smith Prevails 33-20 Over Rival Indian River

Beard-DeLong-Easley Field in Chesapeake, VA is the site of today’s SOLD OUT showdown in the Southeastern District, where the reigning VHSL Class 6 State Champion Oscar Smith Tigers (1-1) play host to the visiting Indian River Braves (2-0).

Jumping out to a 26-point lead before half-time, the Tigers prevailed 33-20. It pushes Oscar Smith’s record to 26-1 against Indian River since 1999.

Johnson had seven receptions for 170 yards and three touchdowns, all of which came before half-time, as the defending VHSL Class 6 State Champs improved to 2-1 overall before another key Southeastern District tilt at King’s Fork on September 26th.

Coach Scott, who has led the Tigers to three state title since becoming Head Coach in 2019, is now 69-10 overall at the helm of Oscar Smith.
