Game Blog - Hampton Rallies to Top Warwick 21-14
Darling Stadium was the site for a battle with first place on the line in the Peninsula District as the Hampton Crabbers took on the Warwick Raiders.
Down 14-0 in the first quarter, the Crabbers rallied with three unanswered touchdowns, the game-winner coming from senior Casey Lassiter on a six-yard run with 5:09 left in regulation. Hampton’s 21-14 victory gives them sole possession of first place in the PD as they now sit at 7-1 overall and own the No. 1 seed in Region 4A.
Warwick, which saw its six-game winning streak end and dropped to 6-3 overall, failed to complete a single pass on the night. They are now 0-3 on the season when scoring less than 20 points compared to 6-0 when reaching that plateau or more.
